Metal Tech 4x4 FJ Cruiser/4Runner Rear Link Bundle (upper & lower links)

Offset Lower Links:
When we designed the rear long travel suspension system for the FJ Cruiser/4Runner, we quickly realized a flaw in the Toyota suspension links' design. With the increased suspension travel the links contact the axle housing not allowing for full freedom of movement for the axle. By doing an offset notch we simply moved the bushing to sit higher on the link tube which in turn provides greater clearance between the axle housing and the link.
Our offset lower links will not bind a full articulation and vertical travel when used with our rear long travel system and other 2" lifts. Also, another benefit to the offset links is a smooth sliding transition when rubbing up against an obstacle. Links with a standard notch have an uneven sliding surface which can cause damage to the axle mount, while the offset notch allows the link to sit lower allowing full protection against rock, trees, and other objects.

I recently replaced the rear links on my TRD Pro 4runner with these Metal Tech Links. Installation instructions were clear and thoroughly explained the process. They even included little tech tips to help, such as using ratcheting straps to align the link with the mount on the frame. The new links are easily twice as strong as the factory ones, it can be felt and seen when they are side by side. The ability to adjust pinion angle and thrust angle using these links is also a major plus if you want to make your alignment PERFECT (Don't be fooled, it is really hard to make it perfect, but this kit makes it possible). Grease-able fittings at all the ends are nice as well. But the main thing, was the extended droop I gained in combination with the long travel rear shocks. I really wish I had measured, eyeballing it I would say 5-6 inches more droop per side. If you have any questions I spoke with Chris on the sales team, however whoever helps you, their entire staff is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and actually respond to questions.
