The Metal-tech 4x4 Standard Rear Hitch Receiver is purpose-built for use with Metal-tech 4x4 rear bumpers, giving you an additional towing and accessory mounting point. With a standard 2" x 2" receiver size, this hitch works not only for trailers, but also for rear bike racks, cargo carriers, and as a centered recovery point.

Product Overview

This receiver bolts directly to the frame just like a factory Toyota hitch—using four rear-facing mounting holes and two bolts under the rear frame crossmember. It is recommended for normal towing using the vehicle’s full factory-rated capacity of 4,500 lbs, equivalent to the Toyota OEM hitch rating.

Improved Ground Clearance

Unlike stock receivers that use a large spacer block under the frame—dropping the hitch several inches—the Metal-tech 4x4 receiver is mounted directly below the rear frame.

• The 2" receiver opening is tucked back roughly 1/2" compared to stock
  
• The receiver tube is also 1/2" longer than OEM to provide additional support while towing
  
• Result: a more compact, higher-clearance design with better departure angle

Spare Tire Compatibility

Yes—this receiver fits with the stock spare tire (265/70R17) in its original location.
Larger spare tires in the factory spot are not recommended, which is when Metal-tech 4x4 rear swing-out bumpers become the ideal solution.
