The Metal-tech Red Eye II Rear Swing-Out Bumper for the Toyota FJ Cruiser is the second generation of the already proven and famous Red Eye bumper, originally released more than a decade ago. Built for serious off-road use, the Red Eye II combines proven design DNA with modern engineering, delivering exceptional strength, durability, and long-term serviceability.

Designed around a one-piece main shell, an auto-locking swing arm, and Metal-tech’s proprietary MotionX Pivot System, this bumper is engineered to support heavy accessories, large spare tires, and real-world abuse without compromise.

Engineering & Construction
We use state-of-the-art 3D scanning and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to design and validate every Metal-tech bumper. Each product is digitally tested under linear, non-linear, and dynamic loading conditions to simulate real-world impacts and stress—resulting in increased strength, durability, and long service life.

Two 3/4" thick recovery points that pierce through the bumper shell and are welded directly into the internal substructure—not just the outer skin

Receiver & Towing
An optional bolt-on 2" receiver hitch is available and provides a full GVW towing rating of 4,500 lbs, comparable to the OEM Toyota receiver design, just with a better departure angle for more off-road performance than the OEM design.
Note:
- The OEM factory hitch will not work with the Red Eye II bumper
- Installing or omitting the receiver hitch does not affect bumper fitment. You can run clean with more ground clearance w/o a hitch. Or remove it when you no longer need it.
