Overview
ICON 2.5 Aluminum Series shocks are engineered to deliver excellent off-road control while maintaining a smooth, comfortable ride on the street. Each shock is tuned and sized for its specific vehicle application, with application-specific lengths and damping characteristics. Like all ICON shock absorbers, the 2.5 Aluminum Series is fully rebuildable and fully revalveable.
On piggyback and select remote reservoir models, ICON uses a 6061 billet aluminum manifold positioned a few inches below the top cap of the shock. This creates an internal Bump Zone that adds approximately 20% more damping force as the shock nears full compression. The added damping helps reduce harsh bottom-outs and improves suspension control during high-speed compression events.
For those looking for more tuning control, these shocks can also be paired with ICON’s Compression Damping Control Valve (CDCV), or you can step up to the Omega Series bypass shocks for a more user-defined setup.
