Warranty Information
Metal-tech 4x4 Warranty
Metal-Tech Cage, LLC guarantees only the products we manufacture under the brands of Metal-tech 4x4 and OPOR, to the original purchaser who owns the vehicle on which the product was originally installed.
Metal-Tech Cage, LLC offers no warranty on any manufactured parts that have been modified from their original design, used in racing, or subjected to abuse.
Warranty Claim Process
To request a warranty review, you must contact info@metaltech4x4.com with the following:
- Description of the issue
- Photo and/or video clearly showing the issue
- Copy of the original purchase receipt with your full name
All items above are required for any warranty request.
Your request will be reviewed, and if a warranty appears possible, Metal-tech 4x4 will issue an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number. This number must be clearly marked on the outside of the package.
Important:
- The issuance of an RMA # does not mean the item is approved for warranty—only approved for return and inspection
- All warranty returns are the customer’s responsibility to ship TO Metal-tech 4x4
- If the item is not covered under warranty, the customer is responsible for return shipping costs
- If the item is covered, Metal-tech 4x4 will repair or replace it with a like-kind product and return ship at no charge
Once the warranty is exercised, the warranty is over.
Metal-tech 4x4 Slider Warranty
If you are the original owner of any Metal-tech 4x4 slider and bend the main body or mounting leg, contact us with your original purchase receipt and photos of the slider.
If the claim appears valid, we will issue an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number. This must be clearly marked on the slider when it is returned. Shipping the slider to Metal-tech 4x4 for inspection is the customer’s responsibility.
Once received, we will inspect the slider. If it is determined to be covered under this warranty, we will repair or replace it and ship it back to you anywhere in the lower 48 at no charge.
We will also include a keychain made from a piece of your original slider—a reminder of what it took to actually bend a Metal-tech 4x4 slider.
What’s Not Covered
This limited lifetime warranty does not cover:
- Powder coating or finish
- Mounting hardware
- Dents or bending of rub rails
Dents and bent rub rails are considered normal use. They tell the story of what it took to get through the obstacle—and they stay.
Limitations
- This warranty applies to typical off-road use only
- Sliders involved in vehicle accidents are not covered
- Warranty is void if abuse is determined
- Once the warranty is exercised, the warranty is over
Metal-tech 4x4 Bumper Warranty
All bumpers made by Metal-tech 4x4 carry a limited lifetime warranty. This warranty is only valid to the original purchaser of the product. This warranty applies to weldments, the Metal-tech 4x4 welded components of the bumper.
All items that are considered wear items, such as but not limited to, latches, bearings, hubs, pivots, seals, pop-locks, do not have a warranty.
All warranties will need to be inspected and approved. It is the customer’s responsibility to send back the product in question for inspection, including covering the return shipping cost. If the item is determined to be covered under this warranty, Metal-tech 4x4 will fix or replace it and ship it back to the customer at no extra charge.
Metal-tech 4x4 Links Warranty
Metal-tech 4x4 Links carry a limited lifetime warranty to the original owner on the weldment only. This applies to the main body of the link where it is welded to the bushing shell, ensuring it is free from bending or cracking under normal use.
Wear items are not covered under warranty, including:
- Bushings
- Jam nuts
- Zerks
- Heim joints
- Flex Joints
Required Maintenance
Links must be maintained on a regular basis.
- Periodically back off the jam nut and re-tighten it
- Keep all bushings properly greased
- In high-corrosion environments, disassemble, clean, and re-grease at least once per year
- Use anti-seize on Flex Joint threads and jam nuts where applicable
Failure to perform regular maintenance can lead to component failure and is not covered under warranty.
Thread Damage / Flex Joint Failure
If threads in the main body are pulled out at the Johnny Joint, this is typically the result of a lack of maintenance, including:
- Jam nut not kept tight
- Corrosion is locking the jam nut to the joint
- The joint is rotating under load without proper clamping force
Driving with loose or improperly maintained threads will eventually result in thread failure.
These conditions are not considered a warranty defect.
However, in these cases, Metal-tech 4x4 may review the situation and offer a replacement set at approximately 50% of retail cost on a case-by-case basis.
Limitations
- Warranty applies to the weldment only (main body and bushing shell)
- Warranty is for normal use only
- Warranty is void in cases of abuse or neglect
- Once the warranty is exercised, the warranty is over
Metal-tech 4x4 – All Other Manufactured Products Warranty
All manufactured products made by Metal-tech 4x4 that are weldments, welded parts of material, carry a limited lifetime warranty to the original owner on the weldment only.
Any item not welded—bushings, bearings, latches, pins, plugs, plastic features, heim joints, Johnny Joints—are considered wear items and do not carry a warranty outside of 45 days from purchase.
Springs sold under the Metal-tech 4x4 brand have a 1-year warranty on primary structure from date of purchase.
Finishes - Powder Coating / Anodizing / Cerakoting
No finishes have any formal warranty. This is a paint/coating process, and its durability across different environments will greatly affect its longevity. Most of these services are not done in-house by Metal-tech 4x4 and are outside our control.
Powder Coating
No warranty is offered on any powder-coated parts.
We strongly recommend ordering our raw product options and having them shipped to your local powder coater.
- It’s easier to receive the order this way. The powder coater can receive your order for you, so there is no need to be home to receive it. Also, LTL to a commercial address is usually faster by one day.
- No risk of the finish being damaged in transit.
- More options for you. You can select the finish you want—quality, color, texture, etc.
- If any warranty issues come up down the road, a local powder coater can address them directly 1:1.

OPOR LED Lights Limited Lifetime Warranty
All OPOR LED Lights carry a limited lifetime warranty to the original purchaser that an unmodified light will power on and produce light.
Moisture inside a functioning light is not a warranty claim. This is considered normal maintenance. If moisture is present, the light must be removed, the lens removed, and the unit allowed to fully dry before reassembly and reinstallation.
If a light fails to turn on, first check your fuse and ground connection. If the issue persists and you would like to request a warranty review, follow the process outlined below.
Upon receipt, Metal-tech 4x4 will inspect the product for proper function and physical condition. Lights that show any impact damage—including cracked or chipped lenses, dented housings, or other external damage—are not covered under warranty. If the light does not function and shows no signs of damage or modification, it will be replaced with a new unit of the same or equivalent model from OPOR.
Metal-tech 4x4 will cover return shipping costs for warranty-approved claims within the lower 48 United States.
Once a warranty claim has been exercised, the warranty is considered fulfilled and does not continue on the replacement product.
Secondary Owner Policy
For secondary owners or customers without proof of original purchase, the OPOR Limited Lifetime Warranty is available at 50% of the replacement cost.
To initiate a claim as a secondary owner, follow the same procedures outlined below.
Warranty Exclusions
This warranty does not cover:
- Products that have been modified in any way (including cutting connectors, altering wiring, or adding sealants)
- Products used in racing applications
- Products subjected to abuse, misuse, or improper installation
- Any physical damage from impacts, including cracked or chipped lenses, dented housings, or other external damage
- Moisture inside a functioning light (maintenance item)
- Wiring harnesses beyond 30 days from the date of purchase
Any modification immediately voids the warranty.
Warranty Claim Process

- Description of the issue
- Photo and/or video clearly showing the issue
- Copy of the original purchase receipt (required for full warranty coverage)
- Full name associated with the purchase
If your claim appears to qualify, Metal-tech 4x4 will issue an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number. This number must be clearly marked on the outside of the package.
Important:
- The issuance of an RMA does not guarantee warranty approval
- Customers are responsible for shipping costs to Metal-tech 4x4 for inspection
- If the product is not covered under warranty, the customer is responsible for return shipping costs
- If the product is covered, Metal-tech 4x4 will repair or replace it with a like-kind product available at that time and cover return shipping within the lower 48
Once the warranty is exercised, the warranty is over.
Products Manufactured by Others (Third-Party Warranty)
Products sold by Metal-tech 4x4 but manufactured by other companies are covered only by the original manufacturer’s warranty.
Metal-tech 4x4 does not provide any warranty on these products and is not responsible for defects, failures, or damage related to them.
All warranty claims, coverage, and decisions are subject to the original manufacturer’s policies.
Metal-tech 4x4 may assist in directing customers to the appropriate manufacturer, but all warranty responsibility remains with the original manufacturer.
Additional Warranty Terms
All warranties provided by Metal-tech 4x4 do not include reimbursement for any additional costs, including but not limited to:
- Shipping costs to or from Metal-tech 4x4
- Vehicle downtime
- Labor for installation or removal
- Any incidental or related expenses
Warranty claims will be processed as quickly as possible. Expedited or express shipping is not provided by Metal-tech 4x4, but may be arranged at the customer’s expense if requested.
International Warranty Policy
International shipping is not provided in either direction for warranty claims.
International warranty requests will be processed the same as domestic claims. If a claim is approved, Metal-tech 4x4 will cover return shipping to a U.S.-based freight forwarder only.
RMA Requirement
Any product shipped to Metal-tech 4x4 without an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number will not be processed until an RMA is issued.
Products received without an RMA, or products determined to be non-warrantable and left unclaimed for 30 days, will be considered abandoned. Ownership is relinquished to Metal-tech 4x4, and the product may be disposed of at our discretion with no compensation owed.
Use & Liability Disclaimer
Operating a vehicle, on-road or off-road, is inherently dangerous and may result in injury or death.
The driver is solely responsible for the safe operation of the vehicle and assumes all risks associated with its use, regardless of vehicle modifications or operating conditions.
Company Name
Metal-Tech Cage, LLC is the legal business name for Metal-tech 4x4. References to either name refer to the same company.
