Toyota Land Cruiser FJ45 Troopy
The Full Profile FJ45 Roll Cage Kit is designed to deliver a true custom-fit roll cage without the time and complexity of designing one from scratch. All tubes are precision pre-bent by Metal-tech 4x4 to ensure proper fitment to the FJ40 body.
Each straight tube is pre-notched on one end, with additional length left on the opposite end, allowing flexibility during final alignment and fit-up based on installer preference and vehicle condition.
Seat Configuration & Fitment
The Full Profile cage is ideal for FJ45s running a forward-facing rear seat, providing increased passenger protection with a complete rear hoop and overhead structure.
This cage can be used with side-folding rear seats, but modification to the seat brackets is required. See Jump Seat Fitment below.

We frequently receive questions regarding inboarding the long rear jump seats when installing a roll cage.
This short video was filmed on the fly for a customer with that exact question. At the time, we had a 1972 Toyota FJ40 in the shop receiving a Full Profile Roll Cage with modifications for early jump seat fitment. Rather than wait, we recorded this walk-through to visually explain seat placement, tube routing, and key installation considerations.
Inbording seats in an FJ45 are the same process as those in an FJ40.

Seat Belts:
Our FJ45 roll cages are constructed from 2" x .120-wall DOM SRA tubing, custom produced to Metal-tech 4x4 specifications.
While standard DOM tubing typically offers 10–12% elasticity, our proprietary tubing delivers 20–24% elasticity, allowing the cage to absorb and dissipate impact energy more effectively in the event of a rollover.
All cage designs are properly engineered in compliance with SCORE racing standards.
Options:
Seatbelts: Our FJ45 roll cages can support 3-point retractable seat belts in the front and rear for all passengers. Our mounting kits will accommodate one pair of seat belts. These are optional but highly recommended. (Belts not included, but avalible from seatbeltplanet.com)
Grab Handles: Front grab handles integrate into the profile design and are our #1 add-on.
Front overhead bars: These are added to the center of the front of the cage. They can also be repeated down the whole Troopy cage with three sets.
Frame Ties: We offer front and rear frame tie kits. Front frame ties are always suggested. Rear frame ties are avalible in 2-point or 4-point options. These do require some custom fab in the rear of the Troopy due to the utility box under the rear corners, but can be installed with a mid tube supporting inside the box with no modification to the tube other than the mounting bolts.
