The Super Stock Spring (Included in Stage 3)
Most GX460s converting from airbags need slightly more spring rate than a standard Prado 150 rear coil.
So we engineered our own.
We reproduced the OEM Toyota Prado 150 rear spring in the USA and added:
+5% spring rate
Stock ride height

Why a “Super Stock” Rear Spring — Why Not Just a Prado 150 Spring?
That’s a fair question.
The Lexus GX460 is consistently heavier than the same-year Toyota 4Runner — generally weighing about 300–600 lbs more due to:
The larger V8 engine
Increased sound deadening
Additional luxury features
Heavier interior components
Years ago, the first springs we used in our conversions were custom built to match the Toyota Prado 150 rear spring rate.
They worked. But the Prado-based spring was designed around a lighter vehicle platform. While it bolted in correctly, it was right at the edge of ideal performance for the heavier GX460.
We wanted better.
So we spent over two years testing custom-built rear springs in search of what we call the “Goldilocks zone”:
Not too soft
Not too stiff
Not lifted
Not saggy
Just right for a stock GX460.
What we discovered was that the GX460 needed slightly more support than a true Prado 150 coil — but without increasing ride height.
The result was our Super Stock Spring, introduced in 2019.

Toyota calls them “secondary springs.” Most brands ignore them. We didn’t.
Key Cones were developed by Metal Tech 4x4 in collaboration with the #1 polyurethane suspension manufacturer in the United States over a three-year engineering process.

CNC Machined UHMW Spring Tail Isolators
This is where most conversions fail.
Polyurethane isolators can be too soft, allowing the spring pigtail to crack over time. Aluminum provides no vibration isolation and can introduce corrosion between dissimilar metals, accelerating wear on the spring.
We machine ours from UHMW — the same material used in orthopedic implants.
