The Pre-Built Full Profile Roll Cage delivers a true custom-fit roll cage without the time, tools, or labor required to design and weld one from scratch. Each cage is hand-built and fully welded in-house by our expert fabrication team, saving you valuable time while ensuring consistent fitment and professional-quality construction.
The Full Profile cage is ideal for FJ40s running a forward-facing rear seat, providing increased passenger protection through a complete rear hoop and overhead structure. This cage can be used with side-folding rear seats, but modification to the seat brackets is required. If your vehicle primarily uses late-model 1974.5+ side-folding seats, consider our Jackson Roll Cage, which is better suited to that configuration.
All Metal-tech FJ40 roll cages are designed to fit the factory hard top, OEM soft top, and all known aftermarket tops.
Premium USA-Made DOM Steel Construction
Our roll cages are constructed from 2" x .120-wall DOM SRA tubing, manufactured in the USA specifically to Metal-tech 4x4 specifications.
This material provides superior strength and controlled energy absorption, making it ideal for off-road and trail-driven Land Cruisers.
Early-Style Jump Seat Fitment – Video Overview
We frequently receive questions regarding inboarding early-style rear jump seats when installing a Full Profile roll cage.
This short video was filmed on the fly for a customer with that exact question. At the time, we had a 1972 Toyota FJ40 in the shop receiving a Pre-Built Full Profile Roll Cage with modifications for early jump seat fitment. Rather than wait, we recorded this walk-through to visually explain seat placement, tube routing, and key fitment considerations.

NOTE: Due to seat veriations we do not offer installing early style rear jump seat mounts. This will have to be done custom with your vehicle once you have the cage. This video is to just share how we have done this over the years.

Pre-1975 FJ40: Drilling is required for both front and rear mounting plates

1975 and newer FJ40: Drilling is required for the front mounting plates only; rear mounting plates utilize factory OEM roll cage mounting holes
This roll cage is supplied in raw steel and will require paint or powder coating to protect the finish and prevent corrosion.

Configuration Recommendations
One of the most popular configurations includes grab handles, the dash crossbar, and the front center overhead bars. These are INCLUDED in all of our Pre-Built Full Profile Cages. (these are NOT included in the unwelded kits)
Front frame ties are always recommended to properly transfer loads to the frame. Rear frame ties are strongly advised if the tub shows signs of fatigue or rust.
Rear overhead bars are a common next upgrade but should be selected with rear passenger headroom in mind.
For more aggressive off-road use, hip guards and a rear seat belt crossbar may be added now or at a later date.
Seat Belt Note:
If running retractable shoulder belts, we offer universal mounting plates to provide both the lower retractor mount and upper shoulder pivot point.
