Rear Camera Relocation Kit – Lexus GX470 & GX460 Rear Bumpers
Relocate your factory rear camera when installing a Metal-tech rear bumper.
This relocation kit allows you to reposition the factory rear camera when installing a Metal-tech 4x4 rear swing-out bumper on your GX470 or GX460. The bracket mounts to the underside of the Fuel Can Rack, positioning the camera between the spare tire and fuel can holders for a clear rear view.
This location closely replicates the factory camera viewpoint from the rear door while keeping the camera protected and centered behind the vehicle.
Installation Notes
The factory camera wiring must be extended to reach the new mounting location. This kit does not include wiring.
We recommend using Cat6 network cable to extend the four factory camera wires.
At the backup camera, remove the plug from the truck side of the harness (leave the plug on the camera side). Connect four wires from the Cat6 cable to the factory harness at this point. Route the Cat6 cable to the new camera mounting location, then connect the wires on the camera harness plug to the Cat6 wires, matching the wire positions used at the other end. Once connected, plug the camera back in.
Mounting Location
The camera mount attaches to the underside of the Metal-tech Fuel Can Rack. This places the camera in a centered position between the spare tire and fuel can holders for optimal rear visibility.
Important Fitment Note
This relocation bracket requires the Fuel Can Rack to be installed on your swing arm.
If you have a Stage 1 or Stage 2 bumper without a Fuel Can Rack, this bracket will not bolt directly to your bumper.
Some customers with Stage 1 or Stage 2 bumpers have successfully mounted this camera bracket by welding or bolting a small 90° tab to the top of the license plate mount (included with those bumpers) and attaching the camera bracket to that tab.
